Hi there, Cam! Thanks for your question! You've come to the right place! We are a group of guests who have so much experience planning Disney vacations that we spend our free time helping others plan their own! And I happen to have a 2-year-old grandson, so this question is right down my alley!
There's nothing like ending a long day at the theme parks with a nighttime spectacular.
Happily Ever After in
Magic Kingdom Park features all my favorite Disney characters and inspires me to follow my dreams. I don't know if it's the music, exhaustion, or Disney magic, but I leave the experience with tear-stained cheeks, inspired to reach for the stars. I'm getting emotional just thinking about it!
Most people head for the area in front of Cinderella Castle to take in the show. While it's a great spot, it fills up very early and can be quite crowded. Farther down Main Street, U.S.A. might be a better option. Personally, I like to avoid the crowds altogether and head for Fantasyland. While you can't see the projection aspect of the performance, you can still enjoy the fireworks and music. This is ideal for a toddler who won't have an obstructed view and may even want to dance around.
My favorite way to take in this show is with a
Fireworks Dessert Party. This Enchanting Extra includes all-you-care-to-enjoy desserts and beverages, plus a reserved viewing area for Happily Ever After. While the pre-party is my first choice, there is a
post-party option, in addition to
Seats & Sweets, which has a viewing area at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant patio.
Luminous The Symphony of Us takes place over the World Showcase Lagoon at
EPCOT nightly. This is not-to-be-missed and thankfully can be viewed from most any spot around the lagoon. I like to grab a spot around the Norway Pavilion 30 minutes before the scheduled start time and send a member of our family for a treat that we can enjoy while we wait. If you prefer, you can book a Fireworks Dining Package at
Rose & Crown,
Spice Road Table, or
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya. These include reserved seating for Luminous.
One last option to consider: catch the fireworks from the parking lot. When our daughter was little, the noise of the fireworks was upsetting to her, so we'd often leave before they started. She and her sisters enjoyed seeing them, though, so we'd hang out by our van and look up into the sky. This was perfect for them, and these are some of my most treasured memories. There I go, getting emotional again!
I hope this is helpful, Cam, and that you and your little one are sharing a magical moment soon. Keep in mind that the most special memories are often made in the little moments, when you least expect it. If there's anything else we can help with, please come back and see us here at
