Hi Jaynee!
Lovely to see you return to planDisney with another question! You’ll be happy to hear that there are wheelchair-accessible areas designated for both
Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom and
Epcot Forever. Both parks offer an excellent viewing area for each show, so I would look for these designated areas. You are not able to reserve these locations earlier in the day, but they are first-come, first-served, before the show. Depending on availability, and the size of your party, know a larger group may need to split up in order to leave enough room for other Guests in wheelchairs to use the designated area.
Since nighttime spectaculars have just returned to the Walt Disney World Resort last week, the downloadable
Guide for Guests with Disabilities for Magic Kingdom doesn't appear to have been updated with the current wheelchair-accessible fireworks viewing areas. In the past, they were located on either side of Main Street, U.S.A. near the East and West Plaza Gardens. In other years I have seen designated areas roped off near the Partners Statue at the central hub. I would inquire at Guest Relations upon arrival exactly where the new location is, as it could change before your trip. I would arrive a bit early the evening of the show and ask a Cast Member if you are having trouble finding the right location. Bring a Dole Whip or funnel cake with you and enjoy people watching before the show!
At Epcot, viewing for Epcot Forever should in the area next to the water known as Showcase Plaza. As you enter World Showcase from Future World, this location is found between the two gift shops, Disney Traders and Port of Entry. In the past, there have been other areas located along the water between Canada and the United Kingdom, and across from Germany. I’m all about snacks while I wait for fireworks, so I might grab some maple-flavored popcorn from Canada, or caramel corn from Germany to enjoy. Again, if you have any difficulty finding the correct area, be sure to ask a Cast Member for assistance! You may also wish to view the
Epcot Guide for Guests with Disabilities to aid in your planning.
Have a wonderful time on your visit, Jaynee, and enjoy the fireworks! Please let me know what additional questions I can help you with!
Have a Magical Day!
