    Where is the best place to view Illuminations? Is there a restaurant that offers an Illuminations package?

    Hi Wendi! Illuminations is by far my favorite fireworks and laser show at Walt Disney World. I have lost count at how many times I have viewed it over the years.

    I firmly believe that there isn't one specific great spot for viewing. Over the years some of the trees have grown up but the real issue each night in viewing is in which direction is the wind blowing. You do not want to be in the area where the wind will blow the ashes and smoke as then you can't view the spectacular show as well. So check that out and head to the side of the lagoon that works best. The bridge between United Kingdom and France is a favorite as well as the Italy area. There are also good spots between China and Norway. The masses and special viewing areas will be between the two shops at the entrance of the World Showcase so I do avoid those places.

    Restaurants will only offer special viewing for Illuminations if you are involved with something special in the Food and Wine dinners or in the past the Candlelight Processional dinner packages. I do not know if they will continue that this year, however.

    For the best seats in the house for Illuminations consider booking a Fireworks Cruise. Your family will get a boat all to themselves that leaves from the Yacht Club marina and will take you on a nice ride down to Hollywood Studios and back before you park to watch an unobstructed view of the show. Refreshments are provided such as chips and sodas on board and you can order something more through private dining at the Yacht Club resort if you choose.
