Hi Savannah! The
Fort Wilderness Campground Resort is one of our favorites on property. We now own a motor coach and love the campsites but the family loves staying in the cabins.
Our favorite cabin loop, 2100, was recently changed over to a campsite loop. But that leaves many other loops that are just as much fun and convenient.
The loop that will be the closest to the main swimming area and Trading Post would be loop 2200. This is a large loop so it also depends on where you are located as to how close and convenient you end up being to those areas. There is a small cabin pool and loops 2500 and 2600 are closest to that area. The longest loops will be 2600, 2700, and 2800. I prefer shorter loops myself and those would be 2300 and 2500.
Most cabin guests either rent a
Golf Cart at Fort Wilderness or use the internal bus system to get around the resort. The buses run regularly and it is easy and convenient. The golf carts of course add quite a bit to the budget but they are lots of fun and of course make getting around faster and easier. There is parking at the main bus depot at the front of the resort as well as at the marina at the other end of the resort.
I prefer the shorter loops so I request 2300 and 2500 as they tend to be quieter and feel a bit more peaceful. If that isn't something you care about then I suggest you request loop 2200. I know this is a bit confusing as there are so many factors that go into choosing or requesting a loop. You need to narrow it down considering what is most important to your family.
