Hi Tammy! I completely understand not wanting to walk at great lengths once you are back at the
Fort Wilderness Campground Resort. This is the largest in area of all the Disney resorts and it is full of fun and adventure so it has become one of my family's favorites for our vacations.
There is a great internal bus system which will get you to the
Trading Posts and swimming pool as well as the main bus depot at the front of the resort and the marina and
Trails End Restaurant at the other end.
Recently Disney took the 2100 cabin loop and has turned it into premium camper sites. That was my favorite cabin loop so now I am looking at the others. Loops 2700 and 2800 have a bus stop at the end of their loops and are within walking distance to the main bus area at the front. However, they are some of the largest and longest loops and depending on where your cabin is could mean a long walk just to get out of the loop.
There are two other bus stops and my choice for the better loops that are close would be 2500, 2300, and 2200. Loop 2500 is a small loop and also next to the cabin pool area. Loop 2200 is a bit longer but it is also the closest to the Trading Post and main swimming area. Loop 2300 is another small loop. It is a tough decision but I think either of these loops would be fine. All the cabins have now been refurbished so that is not an issue either.
