    Best place to propose

    Hi Mike,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so happy to hear you’re going to kick off your “Happily Ever After” moment here at Disneyland!

Love is truly an open door at Disneyland. There are so many magical backdrops and enchanting experiences that Disney recommends for engagements, and I have a few personal favorite spots in mind as well:

    1) Mickey or Minnie’s House
I think this is such a cute place to propose! Minnie meets guests in front of her house or behind it near her gazebo, and Mickey greets guests in his private studio. It’s a fun and more private spot to pop the question, and having Mickey or Minnie there to celebrate makes it extra special.

    2) Near the Royal Theatre After Dark
This area is usually quiet after dark, dimly lit, and beautifully accented by Rapunzel’s tower, lighting up the square. It’s a very romantic place to propose, and you even time your proposal to the firework show!

    3) In Front of Dumbo during the Fireworks
Many people don’t realize you can watch the fireworks from behind the castle, near the Dumbo ride. It feels like you’re right inside the show! It’s a fantastic, lesser-known spot to propose, complete with all the pomp and circumstance, minus the crowds.

After you pop the question, don’t forget to stop by Town Hall to pick up a “Happily Ever After” button to celebrate. It makes a great keepsake and photo prop!

Speaking of photos, Disney PhotoPass used to offer a “Photo Excursion” package where guests could enjoy a short photo session with a Disney PhotoPass photographer. I recommend asking in person if it’s still available. The PhotoPass Concierge is located at the Newsstand, just outside the Disneyland gates. But even if it’s no longer offered, no worries! There are PhotoPass photographers stationed all throughout the park. You can use the Disneyland app to find their current locations.

One final tip: I recommend getting a Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the day. It allows you to skip regular lines for popular attractions, and it also includes unlimited downloads of all photos taken by Disney PhotoPass photographers that day. So all those magical photos can go home with you!

Mike, I hope this helps make your proposal planning just a little more magical. If you have any further questions or need assistance with anything, please don't hesitate to contact me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your love story.

Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter, and magic!
