Hi Brandy!
Although every step you take at the
Walt Disney World Resort is magical, I definitely realize that you will be taking plenty of steps while spending a day at
Magic Kingdom Park!
Guests with mobility issues have a couple of options when it comes to
parking at Magic Kingdom Park. As you know, there are designated parking areas for guests with disabilities, but remember, a valid disability parking permit is required to utilize these areas. If your husband will have a wheelchair or ECV to use, I would suggest parking here since these spots are the closest to the entrance to the Transportation and Ticket Center (where you will get on the Ferryboat or Monorail to travel to Magic Kingdom Park). Just remember, the courtesy tram will not stop at this lot, so the rest of your party will need to walk the short distance from the lot to the entrance.
If he will not be using a wheelchair or ECV, I would recommend parking in the regular parking lots. When you park in these lots, you will be able to utilize the courtesy tram, which will drop you off right at the entrance to the Transportation and Ticket Center and then bring you back to your parking lot at the end of the day, rather than having to travel the short distance from the disability parking area to the entrance on foot. You can even ask one of the Cast Members assisting with parking if you can park at the end of the row closest to where the courtesy tram picks up and drops off Guests to minimize the amount of walking that will be necessary.
Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
