Who is best person to help w planning a trip for a disabled vet family.

    Hi Pat,

Welcome to planDisney! It’s an absolute honor to assist you in planning a Walt Disney World vacation. Please allow me to thank you or your family member for their service and sacrifice. Helping families like yours create unforgettable Disney memories is something I hold close to my heart.

While Disney doesn’t offer official vacation planners or travel agents, planDisney is a team of Disney Guests who love sharing our firsthand knowledge to guide others through the planning process. I’ve helped families choose the perfect Disney Resorts Collection hotel, prioritize attractions with Lightning Lanes, and even map out the best snack stops. You’re welcome to ask as many questions as you need to feel confident and prepared for your trip—by the time we’re finished, you’ll be a Disney pro!

Shades of Green is an incredible resource for military families and certain disabled veterans. This resort, located on Walt Disney World property, offers beautiful accommodations at highly discounted rates exclusively for military members, veterans, and their families. Additionally, Shades of Green provides discounted theme park tickets for eligible Guests. I encourage you to review their eligibility page to see if your family qualifies for these benefits.

If you don’t meet the eligibility requirements for Shades of Green, no worries! Check out the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts for other fantastic savings opportunities. Disney frequently offers promotions on accommodations and tickets, and I’ve found some of these deals to rival other discounts available.

When planning your stay, I recommend starting with Disney’s four resort categories:

    • Value Resorts: Great for budget-conscious families, such as Disney’s Pop Century Resort, which has fun, vibrant theming.
    • Moderate Resorts: A blend of affordability and comfort, like Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, which features the Disney Skyliner for easy park access.
    • Deluxe Resorts: For luxurious accommodations, consider Disney’s Contemporary Resort, steps away from Magic Kingdom Park.
    • Deluxe Villas: Perfect for larger families, such as Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, offering spacious rooms and stunning views.

Once you’ve chosen a resort, you’ll want to decide on your ticket type. Options include base tickets (one park per day), Park Hopper tickets (visit multiple parks in a single day), and Park Hopper Plus tickets (which include water parks and more).

Finally, Disney offers the option to add a dining plan to your vacation package. This pre-purchased meal plan includes options like Quick Service, Table Service, and snack credits, offering convenience and flexibility during your stay.

Once you’ve settled on your resort, tickets, and dining plan, you’ll be ready to book your vacation! Come back and let me guide you through the next steps, such as making advanced dining reservations, booking Lightning Lane attractions, and more!
