What is the best park to visit when there is bad weather? Children ages 3 and 5

    Hi Erin!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

The easiest question is what park to avoid when it is raining and when the rain is expected to last for a while.  That's easy and the answer is Disney's Animal Kingdom.  That's because there are not a lot of indoor attractions there.

Which park is best in the rain?  It depends on how long the rain is expected to last.  If it is going to last for over a couple of hours, then the best park is the Magic Kingdom.  It has a lot of indoor attractions and it's easy to get from one attraction to the other.

If the rain is expected to be less than two hours then the Future World portion of Epcot also works.  The attractions there are very spread out, but the pavilions themselves are huge.  Once you are in a pavilion, you could easily stay there for an hour or two.  In sense, you can wait out the rain.

By the way, I do suggest visiting the parks in the rain.  That's because the crowds will generally be less when it is raining; a lot of guests stay back in their hotel and a lot of locals stay home when there is bad weather in the area.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
