What is the BEST way to use the normal dining plan? Breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Also, how do you know which places you need to make reservations at. We know Cinderella's Table, Mary Poppins Breakfast and Chef Mickey's.Other tips to best use the meal plan?

    Hi Ashley,

I don't know if there is a BEST way to use the dining plan.  It's so flexible that I'm sure everyone who purchases it uses it in a slightly different way.  I can tell you how we typically use it.

Generally, our table service meal is dinner.  Our counter service meals vary depending on the day.  Most days we do lunch and just use up our snack credits for breakfast, but that's not always true either.  A lot of it depends on what time our flight arrives.  You get 1 full day of dining for each night of your stay.  If we arrive late one evening, we'll probably just use a quick service credit for dinner, which leaves us extra snacks and a table service meal to play with.

Let me just give you a scenario where we stay 3 nights/4 days, assuming we arrive late on the first night but fly out late on the last day.

    Day 1 - arrival - Quick Service (D)
    Day 2 - Quick Service (B), Snack (L), Table Service (D)
    Day 3 - Table Service (B), Snack (L), Table Service (D)
    Day 4 - Snack (B), Quick Service (L)

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
