When is the best month to go to WDW?

    Hi Tammi,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. When trying to decide the best month to visit Walt Disney World, there are so many variables and preferences that can vary from person to person.  For example, if you'd like to find the best rates and lighter crowds, you'll want to visit when most schools are in session.  An ideal time is right after Labor Day Weekend, but it can still be hot.  If you'd like to avoid the heat, visiting after the holidays and after Disney Marathon should be a good option (avoid Presidents Day Weekend and MLK Weekend).  If you'd rather be able to enjoy holiday decorations, anytime between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day will work.  However, the crowds really pick up the closer you get to Christmas. There are also Special Events such as Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, Epcot International Fine Food and Wine Festival, and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party that are date specific and may be something you'd want to attend, so that would determine the time you'd like to visit, too.

If there is a specific feature you'd like such as budget, events, and/or crowds when visiting Walt Disney World, please let us know. We could offer you more detailed suggestions for travel dates.  -Kara
