Ahoy, Walter! Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for your question. I would argue that it’s always a good time to sail aboard Disney Cruise Line, but let me see if I can give you a few pointers about picking your perfect cruise from Florida.
Disney Cruise Line has two different departure ports located in Florida:
Port Canaveral near Orlando and
Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. Unlike some departure ports that only operate seasonally, both of the Florida departure ports operate year-round. As a result, there are currently over 500 different Disney cruises scheduled to leave Florida between now and May 2027. That’s a lot of options!
Aside from the occasional Transatlantic cruise, all of the itineraries from both Florida departure ports are either Bahamian or Eastern, Western, or Southern Caribbean cruises. To help you narrow down your options, I recommend first deciding which departure port is most convenient for you and then decide how long you want your cruise to be. There are currently 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-, and 7-Night
Bahamian Cruises and 4-, 5-, 7-, and 10-Night
Caribbean Cruises available for booking. The good news is that all of them include a stop at
Disney Castaway Cay,
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, or both, so you are guaranteed to enjoy island time on at least one of Disney’s private beaches during your sailing.
Personally, I love booking cruises for January or February because there is nothing like escaping the cold weather back home for sunny destinations where you can feel the warm sand between your toes. But honestly, there are benefits to sailing throughout different times of the year and you really cannot go wrong no matter which month you choose.
I wish you all the best as you find the perfect itinerary and sailing dates to meet your needs. If you have any other questions, we are always ready and willing to help at planDisney. Happy sailing!
