What is the best Moderate Resort?

Hi Jennifer! Wow, this is such a personal answer as so many of us have favorites among the resorts for many reasons.

When talking about the typical moderate resorts I enjoy spending time in the Port Orleans locations. It is divided up between Riverside and French Quarter. Riverside is much bigger but the rooms are well finished out and the landscaping and theme is well done. The French Quarter is a smaller area and perhaps a bit quieter. The amenities are wonderful with the pools, boat rentals, restaurants, lounges, and much more.

Old Key West is a DVC property but you can reserve rooms there. They are generally larger then other resorts and the amenities are as wonderful as Port Orleans. Coronado Springs is a bit large but when you stay there you do benefit from the fact it is a convention resort. Not as many guests are hanging at the pools during the day and there is a spa and other facilities.

My least favorite is the Caribbean Beach as I like to have the ability to reach the front desk easily if I need some assistance. The Caribbean is very spread out with the "lobby" a totally separate building not connected to any of the other buildings.

For the non typical moderate I LOVE the cabins in Fort Wilderness. They are quaint and peaceful and such a wonderful experience. I suggest no more then four per cabin as there is only one bathroom. But you have a fully equipped kitchen to enjoy and a living and dining area. If you choose this route I strongly suggest you pay the extra cost for a golf cart rental for use during your stay.

As I mentioned it is a very personal choice but hopefully I have given you some things to think about when selecting your Disney resort.
