Welcome to planDisney, Lydia! You're just a few days away from experiencing the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort, and a stay at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside offers southern charm alongside many great
benefits to its guests! I love the peaceful boat rides along the Sassagoula River to Disney Springs from this resort and the scenic walk over to Port Orleans French Quarter to grab some Mickey-shaped beignets! I can almost taste the sugar from here!
Lydia, there are a few options I can recommend for
arriving to your Disney Resort hotel from the airport. Personally, my family usually prefers to use Mears Connect for transportation; you can book online ahead of time, and your shuttle bus will usually be ready for you once you deplane and collect your luggage. If you use this form of transportation, there is ample space below the bus to store your luggage and other travel items. Sometimes, the bus will make multiple stops at different resort hotels, so if you book this service, remember that it is not usually the quickest way to arrive, but we enjoy the comfortable ride and ample space.
Another option is to utilize a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft from the airport. You can search for a ride directly on the app once you have landed in Orlando, and this ride would be a more direct drop-off for your travel party.
Finally, if you'd like to have a vehicle of your own during your stay, you can look into renting a car directly at the airport to drive yourself to your Disney Resort hotel (remember that guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel do get
free parking at the theme parks!)
Lydia, I hope this helps you to find the perfect way to arrive in style for your vacation! If we can help with any other questions before you take off for your visit, please come back and see us again here at
planDisney!
See you real soon,
Alison
