Hello there, Ashley,
That’s a terrific question.
Long Beach Airport is one of our favorites for air travel to and from the Disneyland Resort. We usually choose to rent a car. But we have a little experience with other available options as well. The best option for you may depend on a few factors, including your party size, time and date of travel, and budget.
The most comfortable option for travel from Long Beach Airport is likely to be a limousine or private shuttle service. The most affordable option is public transportation using the Metro and OCTA networks. Between those options, you may consider hiring a rideshare service like Lyft. If you happen to be traveling at a time during higher surge pricing of the rideshare services, a flat-rate taxicab is a great option that we have used in the past as well.
Your return trip from the Disneyland Resort to the Long Beach Airport or
other area airports may take some more advanced planning, especially if you have a larger party size. There haven’t been substantial numbers of taxicabs queued up and ready to take passengers away at a moment’s notice as had been the case in previous years. Please make sure to either make a firm, advanced reservation for your return trip or give yourself plenty of extra time to account for delays in summoning a rideshare service or taxicab.
The Disneyland Resort website information about
getting to the resort includes excellent details for various modes of transportation. If you would like some more recommendations based on additional specific information for your needs, please feel free to send us a follow-up question at planDisney. You might also check with a trusted travel agent for advice or reservations. Some major agencies even sell vouchers for shuttle services at significant discounts.
Tony’s Tip: If you’re like me, you may find yourself running out of space in your luggage to transport
out-of-this-world souvenirs home. Select Disneyland Resort
shops can arrange for shipping for a reasonable fee. Shipping prices vary based on the original cost of your purchases. So be sure to save your receipts.
Have a magical time, Ashley!
