Thank you for coming to planDisney with your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question, Mary!
Disney’s Old Key West Resort is an ideal
Disney Resorts Collection hotel for someone looking for a resort-only stay. As someone who loves the laid-back Florida lifestyle of the Conch Republic and Disney World, I believe the two are a resort-theming match made in heaven! I especially love the proximity to
Disney Springs and the ability to get in a round of golf if I am not going to be spending my time in the Theme Parks.
As for the best location to stay within the resort, it will be a matter of preference. I like the ability to be a quick stroll from the Hospitality House, so I can use my Resort Refillable Mug, grab something to eat, and snag the perfect spot at the main pool. Another plus is being close to the complimentary transportation boat ride to Disney Springs. The buildings near the Hospitality House bus stop and the Peninsular Road bus stop check this box for me. If you don’t need quick access to the main building but want to be close to a pool, you could entertain the buildings near the Old Turtle Road bus stop, South Point Road bus stop, or Miller’s Road bus stop. Of the three locations, buildings near the Old Turtle Road bus stop would rank higher for me due to the pool having the Turtle Shack Snack Bar.
I hope this helps answer your question, Mary.
Let me know if you plan on frequenting Disney Springs and would like restaurant recommendations. As a self-proclaimed Disney Foodie, I would happily share my favorite dining spots so you can make reservations!
Cheers,
Brent
