Hi Janet!
What a great question! I have two boys and two girls and you would be surprised at how many attractions and rides appeal to both genders. So my first piece of advice would be to not avoid any attraction until you've experienced it just because you think it would be too "girly".
First I would suggest to click this link and explore the
Interactive Map of Walt Disney World and view the major rides and attractions. Based on your child's interests and height, make a list of activities that are especially appealing to your son.
Next I have listed some attractions in the parks that my boys especially love. Many of these occur at certain time intervals throughout the day so be sure to look at the times guide for the days you are visiting.
Magic Kingdom: Pirates League (call for reservation), Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial, Tom Sawyer Island, Frontierland Hoedown, Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party, and Frontierland Shooting Gallery.
Epcot: Innovations (hours of exploring and air conditioning!), Mission: SPACE Advanced Training Lab (post-ride interactive play), and the dancing water fountains
Hollywood Studios: Jedi Training Academy, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, and Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show
Animal Kingdom: The Boneyard, Wilderness Explorer badge collecting, and Discovery Island Trails
Here is to a magical vacation!
Blessings,
