Best hotel if traveling with elderly parents that absolutely must use scooters to get around. Going Oct 30 for MNSHP with kids 7,11,17. Did BC in Dec w/parents. Would like to be in the MK area. WL seems to be liked better than Poly but buses seem too much

    Hi Angela,

What great memories you've been making traveling with your parents and now with your grandparents!

When we visited WDW last summer with my parents, we choose the Polynesian because my mother is in a wheelchair and knew it would provide the easiest way for her to get around.  We could easily get to the monorail to go to both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom.  As for the other parks, we did have to take a bus,  and Disney cast members do an outstanding job bringing her onto the bus and safely securing her.  However, this does take some additional time, so you'll need to plan ahead for that.

She was also in a handicap accessible room that she could easily maneuver around. The rooms vary in size from 415 to 476 sq feet whereas the Wilderness Lodge rooms are 344 sq feet (just thinking about the rooms holding two scooters).

I don't think you could go wrong with the Contemporary or Grand Floridian either with their easy access to the monorail.

Thanks for the question; please let us know if we can help again.
