Ahoy, Eileen, and welcome aboard planDisney! We are so happy you found us! Thanks for bringing your question to us about where to stay before your Disney Cruise aboard the
Disney Destiny. Let's get into it.
You've come to the right place because there are a few hotels recommended by Disney in
Fort Lauderdale, the Destiny's departure port. Scroll down to near the bottom of the Fort Lauderdale page I linked for you where it says, "Arrival & Stay Essentials." Then click, "Hotel Accommodations" to see the ones Disney has partnered with. This list does get updated from time-to-time, so keep it handy anytime you want to double check.
Even better, if you book your hotel directly through Disney as part of your cruise, you can add on
Ground Transportation from your hotel to the port for a fee. I can tell you from experience that it's so magical and convenient to have Disney pick you up and whisk you away to your ship. It truly is Hakuna Matata. If this is something you're interested in,
contact Disney Cruise Line to set it all up. If you happen to be using a travel agent to help you with your cruise, your agent will be able to arrange this for you.
While I haven't been on the Destiny yet, I have sailed on both of the ships in the same class, the
Disney Wish and the
Disney Treasure. Trust me when I say the
Haunted Mansion Parlor is not to be missed. If you've ever wanted to just hang out on the Haunted Mansion ride at Walt Disney World and have a drink while you do, this is the place for you!
Eileen, I hope you have a spectacular cruise and that you visit us again with any other planning questions.
Let your dreams guide you!
Melanie
