Where would be the best hotel on property to stay with in-laws and two families with six children total? Proximity to Magic Kingdom, luxury accommodations, and convenience are priorities for our families.

I'm picking up on a keyword in your question, Kristel, and that is luxury.  Disney's flagship resort, the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa fulfills all of your requirements.  As one of the three monorail resorts, convenience and proximity to the Magic Kingdom cannot be beat.  Guests of the Grand Floridian also enjoy nightly turn-down service, two signature dining locations on site (Citricos and Narcoossee's), and opulent surroundings, from the moment you step foot into the Grand Lobby.  While luxury is almost palpable at Disney's Grand Floridian, somehow even the youngest guests fit right in and are every bit as welcome as adults.  Based on your criteria, I'd say the Grand Floridian is the resort home for your family!
