How best could the grandparents purchase Park tickets for their 4 families? Should each family purchase their own tickets, so they can manage Genie+ or Lightning Lanes?

Hey there, Nellie! I am so pleased to welcome you to planDisney. A trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth with your children and grandchildren sounds practically perfect in every way.

I think buying theme park tickets for your whole family to enjoy Walt Disney World Resort makes you the Fairy Grandmother!

If you would like to purchase all tickets in one transaction, I can share how you can do this easily. The key is for everyone to have a MyDisney account and you all to be connected in your Family & Friends list.

Once everyone's MyDisney accounts are created and connected, you can purchase theme park tickets for the total number of Guests joining you. Before the final payment screen, you will be able to assign the tickets to people in your Family & Friends list. How do you get set up to do this? There are just a few simple steps.

I would have each family create their own MyDisney accounts if they do not already have them. They can go to the Walt Disney World Resort home page and select the "Log In or Create Account" link at the top right-hand corner of the screen. They will then enter their email address and follow the prompts to create their accounts. The adults can create accounts for their children by going to My Family & Friends, selecting "+ Add a Guest" and selecting the link to "Add a new Guest who doesn’t have a MyDisney account."

Once everyone has an account, you can add them to your Family & Friends list. Following the links to add a guest, you can find your family members with their names and email addresses. Once you have added one family member, you can find the rest of that family by scrolling to "Guests You May Know" and sending an invitation.

Being connected will also make planning your days in the theme parks easier. Each family could purchase their own Lightning Lane passes, but you could modify initial attraction selections and make additional choices to enjoy rides together. You can also create groups for Virtual Queues for attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Did you know you can also share your Disney PhotoPass photos with up to 25 connected family and friends? If you add Memory Maker to your vacation, you will be able to access all the moments PhotoPass photographers capture for your connected family members, even if you are not in the picture.

I hope everyone in your family has a magical vacation, filled with laughter, Pixie Dust and memories for a lifetime. Please come back by planDisney if you have any questions as you put the picture-perfect touches on your trip.

    Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!
