What is the best way to give a child a specific amount of money and not have to keep up with the cash

    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for visiting with this question. I think giving kids a little bit of spending power on vacation is a great idea, with some limitations of course!

You could simply bring a Disney Gift Card along if you don't want to carry cash and many people do this. However in my opinion, the easiest way to go about this is if you are staying in a Disney Resort Hotel.

As a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, you will receive complimentary MagicBands to use in your Resort and throughout the parks. You may activate charging privileges for your child at check-in and you will also have the option to set a daily spending limit. This is a great way for kids to make purchases without the fear of losing cash. You will need to set a PIN for each MagicBand in order to make purchases so keep that in mind and make it something your child can remember.

Purchases made with your MagicBands will be charged to the credit card you have on file at your Disney Resort Hotel. You also may also stop by the Front Desk at any time to pay your balance using other methods of payment.

Wishing you a magical vacation, Jennifer. Hope to see you real soon!
