Hiya, Katie! Thanks for stopping by
planDisney with your question!
It looks like you just recently arrived at the
Happiest Place on Earth, and I couldn’t be more excited for you! I’m thrilled that you’re going to have the chance to experience
Disney Genie+ Service at the Disneyland Resort, too! So, it sounds like you’ve probably already purchased your Disneyland Resort
theme park tickets, which means that you can now add Genie+ to your tickets on a daily basis by using the
Disneyland app after arriving inside either of the theme parks.
Here's how it works: As soon as your tickets are scanned and you’ve entered
Disneyland Park or
Disney California Adventure Park, open the home screen of your Disneyland app. From there, tap on the three lines in the lower-right corner. Select “My Genie Day” and look for “Get Disney Genie+ for Today.” Now, tap “Get Disney Genie+ Service,” and you’ll be prompted to select which tickets are eligible to add Genie+ for that day. Simply select the tickets you’d like to add the service to, and the cosmic power of Genie+ awaits!
As soon as this transaction is complete, you can go ahead and book your first
Genie+ Lightning Lane. Choose from about 18 attractions between the two theme parks, if you have Park Hopper tickets. Just keep in mind that you won’t be able to “hop” to the other park until after 1:00 PM.
Also, there are currently three attractions not included in Genie+, including
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, and Radiator Springs Racers. These attractions can be purchased as
Individual Lightning Lanes, and you can purchase up to two of these attractions each day.
Last but not least, did you know that Genie+ also includes unlimited downloads of your Disney PhotoPass pictures from the day? This is one of my favorite perks of Genie+! Be sure to look for PhotoPass opportunities at some Character dining locations and on some attractions, too.
I hope this helps, Katie! Please stop back with any additional questions you may have… we’re all EARs!
See ya’ real soon,
Kristin
