Best friend & I want to stay at PO Riverside in May 2012. Want to stay in Alligator Bayou section, but we hear there's going to be refurbishments... now we are worried construction will be loud or take away from the resort experience. Opinions, plz?!

    Hi Jenn,

Room refurbishments do not usually impact a resort's experience at the resort's with exterior corridors. (A pool rehab however can be very distracting!)

During May 2012, there are four buildings that are scheduled for renovation in the Alligator Bayou section. Unfortunately, these buildings are the closest to the food court, etc. If you stay in building 38 or 39 (or near that location) and walk across Ol' Man Island to reach the food court, then you won't be near the construction at all.

Renovation schedules are subject to change. I would watch www.portorleans.org for updates. This is a great, unofficial site for information on the Port Orleans resort.

If you are concerned about the overall experience, I would suggest Coronado Springs Resort for a girls getaway. Fun resort with a nightclub, queen beds, exotic pool area, spa, etc. It's more adult-oriented!
