what are the best foods to eat at disneyland and disney california adventure

Isurangie! Welcome back to planDisney! We love when you stop by to ask your great questions - especially when they have to do with dining at the Happiest Place on Earth, because, oh my goodness, it's my very favorite topic. Thank you for your question! Let's dig right in!

Where Disneyland really shines, in my opinion, is in the quick service and mobile ordering from the Disneyland app. I might have maybe one sit-down meal on any given day, and the rest of the time I'm snacking my way around the park. There's so much to try! Everyone has their own preferences at the Disneyland Resort, so I'll just share a few of my favorites to give you some ideas.

My go-to snack right now in Disneyland Park is the Cream Cheese-filled Pretzel at Refreshment Corner on Main Street. This little warm treat is delicious and has a touch of unexpected sweetness. So good!

My family also loves the Plaza Inn on Main Street (no reservations needed!) because there's something for everyone, it's nostalgic (Walt Disney himself dined here!), it's got plenty of seating (views of Sleeping Beauty Castle!), and the food just feels good in your tummy - especially the Fried Chicken Platter. I dream about this meal. It's quintessential Disneyland, in my opinion, and definitely sharable!

For a sit-down option in Disneyland Park, I'm picking Café Orleans and ordering their famous Monte Cristo. (Request extra dipping sauce!) Then, for dessert, I'm heading over to Tropical Hideaway in Adventureland for the Chile Mango Whip.

In California Adventure, I love Lamplight Lounge anytime for Lobster Nachos and the Brussels Caesar, but especially weekend brunch offered Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only for French Toast and a Mimosa Flight.

For lunch I'm mobile ordering QuesaBirria Tacos from Cocina Cucamonga and loving life.

The advance dining reservation I'm always getting in California Adventure is Alfresco Dining at Carthay Circle for a late afternoon chill time. It's such a vibe with views of Buena Vista Street while sipping on Rose Petal Soda.

And, I have to tell you, the best little take-home treat is the Churro Toffee Square. Pick it up at any of the sweet shops like Trolley Treats or Candy Palace. It's good for weeks and transports you back to the magic after you've returned home!

I should mention, Isurangie, that menus are subject to change anytime so some of the items I mention may not be available at the time of your visit - but that just means there's something else delicious to try!

I recommend you check out Foodie Guides on the Disney Parks Blog for more "rumbly in your tumbly" and see what looks good to you!

Lastly, since I see you are from California, Isurangie, I wanted to also make sure you knew about the SoCal Resident Ticket, as well. This special 3-day, one park per day ticket is for Guests who reside within ZIP codes 90000 and 93599 and is such a great deal to take advantage of, if you qualify!

As you continue to prepare for your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, don't hesitate to come back and ask me another question! I'd love to share more of my tips and recommendations for a truly magical time in Disneyland!

    Cheers,
    McCayla

Hello from the Pacific Northwest! I'm McCayla, a wife and mom dreaming of adventure in the great wide somewhere, yet also completely content watching Toy Story from the couch. My love of Disneyland began as a little girl on Peter Pan's Flight and only grows with each visit. But even when I'm not physically at the Happiest Place on Earth, I truly feel that same joy when I can help others (YOU!) experience the magic of Disneyland Resort too.
