What is the best way to use fast passes in a group with small children? For example I’m traveling with my kids aged 7 & 2 and my parents, so should my parents and I stagger our fast pass times so one of us can stay with the kids?

    Hi, there!

Jenna, I'm so thrilled to hear about the vacation you're planning. Your heart is going to just melt as you watch your little ones experience the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort!

I don't know about your kiddos, but my three don't wait well and that's why I love Disney's FastPass+ so much. This convenient family-friendly service allows us to bypass the standby line and board an attraction with little to no wait! As a mom, one of my favorite things about FastPass+ is how flexible it is. When we stay at a Disney Resort hotel, I can select our FastPass+ experiences up to 60-days in advance, but I can modify them at any time, including the day of! That freedom is awesome. I don't stagger my family's FastPass+ selections because each experience has an hour-long window in which the FastPass+ can be used. We aim to arrive at the attraction in the early part of the hour so that we have plenty of time to get two parties through in that window (if it's something our toddler can't ride with everyone). As long as the party who waited with your 2-year old scans their MagicBands or cards at the FastPass+ touchpoint before the hour window is up, they're good to go! If you're at all worried that an hour won't be enough time to get two groups on an attraction one after the other, staggering your FastPass+ by 15 or 30-minutes will give you a wider time frame.

Do you know about Disney's Rider Switch? This is another family-friendly service my family often uses to experience thrill attractions that our little one is just too little for. With Rider Switch, my husband and I can take turns riding with our big kids without experiencing multiple wait times!

I hope this was helpful, Jenna. Please let me know if you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
