Hi Dawn!
There are several ways to go between the two Walt Disney Resorts, the
Wilderness Lodge and the
Fort Wilderness Campsites. One of my favorite ways is to actually walk but if it is dark you should not do this as the path is not lit. But during daylight hours there is a wonderful path that connects the two resorts and you will often find deer and turkey flocks along the way. You can get directions of where to find the path from your resort concierges. It comes out at the Disney stables and then it is another short walk or short bus ride to the campfire.
Most guests will prefer to use the boat shuttle service that connects the two resorts. They run about every 15-20 minutes and these smaller boats go between the Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary Resort, and Fort Wilderness. Again when you arrive at the Fort you can walk down by Pioneer Hall to catch the internal bus to the
Chip and Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long. You can also walk as there are sidewalks the entire way.
During the winter months the Sing-A-Long begins at 7pm so you would want to arrive around 6:30. This gives you time to roast some marshmallows on the large open fires and get settled before the show begins. Come earlier and enjoy a dinner from the food truck that has a delicious menu. I love their French fries! Because you will be waiting for boats and buses I would give yourself at least an hour for travel time.
I am sitting in our motor coach tonight and just finished listening to the Sing-A-Long music. I love hearing the singing every night even if I do not walk over to the campfires. It is such a fun and peaceful activity under the stars at Disney.
