Heya, Rochelle! Sending you warm greetings from planDisney! As someone who enjoys Disneyland Resort history, I was so excited to hear your story about your parents’ first visit in 1955. Disneyland Park
officially opened on July 17, 1955, so it must have been an incredible experience to visit on the very next day!
Fast forward 70 years, and it sounds like you're looking to purchase a Disneyland ticket for a visit on July 18, 2025. I’m happy to assist! There are actually two magical parts to the answer—the ticket and the park reservation.
The most efficient way to purchase a ticket is online, and there are a couple of ways to do that. The first is by making your purchase through the
tickets page of the Disneyland Resort website. Simply select the type of ticket, how many days you’d like to visit, and whether you’d like to purchase a 1-park per day ticket or upgrade to a Park Hopper ticket. Once you’ve decided which route to go, you’ll also need to make a park reservation on the date(s) you’d like to visit. I took a quick peek at
reservation availability, and as of the date I’m writing this, there are still reservations open for July 18th! This is subject to change, especially as your visit gets closer, so you’ll want to book your park reservation as soon as possible. The great news is that the reservation step is included as part of the ticket purchasing process.
You can also buy theme park tickets through the
Disneyland mobile app. Just tap the plus (+) sign at the bottom of the app, followed by “Buy Tickets and Passes”. Select the “Theme Park Tickets” option to be taken through the purchasing process.
Now, Rochelle, I have some even more exciting news for you! There’s a brand new
Disneyland Anniversary Ticket Offer that features discounts on 3-day and 4-day tickets. Even if you’re not planning on visiting for multiple days during this particular trip, you can use your Anniversary Offer tickets on nonconsecutive days between May 16 and August 14, 2025—which means you can come back again to experience the magic multiple times! (As if you needed another reason to visit, right?!).
Your July 18th visit is just in time for the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration! Disneyland will come alive with even more magic and happiness (who knew that was even possible?!) as the resort celebrates 70 years of enchantment! There will be so many new entertainment options, including Tapestry of Happiness and World of Color Happiness!. The event will also mark the return of some fan-favorites, like Wondrous Journeys and the Paint the Night Parade. And, since you’re a big fan of Walt Disney himself, I’ll bet you’ll love the new
“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” attraction coming to the Main Street Opera House! I certainly can’t wait!
Rochelle, as you step through those gates into Disneyland Park on July 18th, may you feel that same sense of wonder and possibility that your parents experienced so many years ago. May your day be filled with joyful discoveries, heartwarming moments, and the enduring magic that Walt Disney dreamed of sharing with the world. Here's to celebrating happy, then and now!
