What are the best Disney Resort options for a family of five? Our kids are 10,6 and 4. ( not too pricey)Which would be better? P.O. Riverside or All Star Music Family Suite? ( Coming the first week in September) Previous trips have been deluxe resorts.

It depends on what is most important to you: that deluxe resort feel, or space.

One of the pros of a stay in a family suite at the All Star Music is that your family will have plenty of space to spread out a bit.  The suites feature a separate sleeping area as well as two full bathrooms.  These suites are 520 square feet compared to the 314 square foot standard rooms at Port Orleans Riverside.  The family suites also have kitchenettes that include a microwave and a refrigerator, whereas the standard rooms at Port Orleans Riverside have only a small refrigerator and coffee maker.  Those are all good things, right?  Now, on to the cons...The overall feel of the All-Star resorts is different than that of a deluxe.  The buildings are more open and, in my opinion, there isn't the same degree of privacy as there is at a deluxe or moderate.  Further, there are no sit-down restaurants and while the theming is definitely large scale, I don't find the atmosphere of the All-Stars to be as quaint and charming as that of a moderate or deluxe resort.

Port Orleans Riverside is a great choice if you want to retain that "deluxe feel" for a moderate price.  The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and lend to a very down-home southern charm kind of feeling.  Buildings are situated so as to offer more of a secluded atmosphere.  A sit-down restaurant is available in addition to the food court.  There is even a lounge on-site where mom and dad might enjoy unwinding with a drink at the end of a busy park day.  It can be a bit tight to fit a family of five into the room, but if you understand that going in then it's much easier to bear.

It comes down to what is most important to you.  Hopefully I've given you some food for thought as you make a decision to best suit your family.
