What is the best way to get on a Disney Cruise ship as early as possible from a Disney hotel? Take the Magical Express back to the airport and get on DCL trans. there (how early do they start?) or just get the DCL transportation from the hotel?

Hello Kelly! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I am so excited to hear you will be heading out for a high seas adventure on Disney Cruise Line!  It is even better yet to be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort before joining Captain Mickey.  My kids always start jumping for joy when they see the coach pull up in front of our favorite resort Animal Kingdom Lodge to take us to port!

Your total travel time can be shorter when taking the Disney Cruise Line coach to Port Canaveral directly from your Walt Disney World Resort.  You may stop at other resorts prior to departing for the coast, but this will be similar or less total travel time as riding the Magical Express back to the airport, waiting and traveling to port from the airport (not to mention a lot less work and transfers if traveling with a group).  If you are looking to arrive to the cruise terminal as early as possible you can consider a private car service.  It will ensure you and your group will get to Port Canaveral at the time you wish to arrive and board your ship.

No matter how you arrive to port, be sure to spend some time during your check in process to explore the terminal. There is a beautiful model of the Disney Magic in the middle of the terminal which also often is home to pre-cruise meet and greets with your favorite characters - two great photo opportunities!

For a convenient and quick debarkation day using Disney Cruise Line transportation heading back to Orlando International Airport, try using the Onboard Airline Check-In service.  If you are an eligible guest and flying on an included airline, this service allows you to get your boarding passes and check your luggage from the ship allowing you to quickly drop your bags and head straight to security after your cruise.

Enjoy your travels!  Bon voyage!  Angie
