What is the best way to clean and shine magic bands from previous trips? My family has quite a few from previous trips and we’d like to reuse them, but they’re a little dingy.

    Howdy, Lorna! Welcome to planDisney!

Lorna, it is so funny that you ask this question! I have a visit to Walt Disney World Resort coming up in just a couple of weeks, and in preparation for my trip, I've been going through my MagicBand collection and noticed some were looking not quite their best! So, seeing your question inspired me to stop procrastinating, get to work, and get them looking as good as new! While I couldn't find any specific instructions on how to clean a MagicBand, I would love to share my method with you, which actually worked quite well!

I first grabbed a clean, dry microfiber cloth to get any surface dust off the MagicBands. From there, I put some warm water in a bowl with a few drops of dish soap. MagicBands are completely waterproof, so I let them soak in the soapy water for about 5 minutes before rinsing it off and drying it with a paper towel. I was shocked to see how easily the gunk lifted just by allowing it to soak for a few minutes! There was still some dirt in the holes of the band, so I used a q-tip to get that out (a toothbrush would work well too), and voilà, good as new! While I didn't end up needing it, I did have a melamine foam sponge on standby to get any pesky scuffs off. I went ahead and tested that out on one of my bands for you, and it did seem to enhance the shine a bit!

Lorna, did you hear that the new MagicBand+ is coming to Walt Disney World Resort in 2022? The MagicBand+ will unlock a whole new world of wearable technology, allowing you to interact with the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection sculptures and experience the nighttime spectaculars of Disney Enchantment and Harmonious like never before with synced vibrations and lighting effects! While there is no official release date yet, I certainly can't wait to snag one to add to my MagicBand collection!

I do hope this answer is helpful to you! It's amazing what a little elbow grease can do, isn't it? If you have any other questions as you plan your Walt Disney World vacation, please do visit us again here at planDisney!

    See you real soon!
