What are best choices for lightning pass

Welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy to answer your question today.

All right, Kristin. You've come to the right place and asked the right person. I love talking strategy! Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass can be great tools for accomplishing the most popular rides at the resort as they get you access to shorter wait times through the Lightning Lane. And while the right attractions to reserve are always the ones that you really want to experience, I've got some suggestions since you asked.

But one thing I want to clarify before I start is that all of the theme parks, except Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, have groups to pick from when reserving your Lightning Lanes ahead of time. You can choose 1 experience from the first group and 2 from the second. Alternatively, you can choose all 3 from the second group, but that is not recommended if you're trying to get the best bang for your buck! Furthermore, once you've redeemed a Lightning Lane during the day of your visit, you can book another (subject to availability)...but when you do, groups no longer matter. In other words, when making new reservations on the day of your visit, you can pick any eligible and available Lightning Lane experience. With that out of the way, let's channel Deadpool and Wolverine: LET'S GO!

    Magic Kingdom Park

    Group 1: Tiana's Bayou Adventure
Group 2: Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean
    Group 1 Runner-Up: Peter Pan's Flight

    Disney's Hollywood Studios

    Group 1: Slinky Dog Dash
Group 2: The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania!
Group 1 Runner-Up: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway

    EPCOT

    Group 1: Remy's Ratatouille Adventure
Group 2: Mission: SPACE and Spaceship Earth
Group 1 Runner-Up: Frozen Ever After

For group 2, you can really pick any of the included attractions as most of these experiences tend to have lower wait times except at peak times of the year.

    Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park

    Na'vi River Journey
    Kilimanjaro Safaris
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain

Groups don't matter with this park, but I've put them in order of priority.

In these selections, the runner-ups are there so that you know what to pick should my first suggestion not be available. And if my suggestion is available and you snag it beforehand, you'll want to prioritize the runner-up when you can make a new reservation on the day of your visit (subject to availability). It's also important to note that offerings and groups can change, so you'll want to check the Lightning Lane page right before you're eligible to make your reservations.

Now, you'll note that I didn't give suggestions for Lightning Lane Single Pass. The reason for this is, well, they are all worth it if you want to skip the biggest lines at the resort. Each one of these attractions is among the most popular at the resort and if you don't mind paying to skip the lines for them, you should reserve them. You can reserve up to 2 of these experiences per person, per day.

Kristin, best wishes with securing the Lightning Lanes of your dreams. I'm here should you have any other questions.

    Keep on believing,
    Matt
