Hi Corinna:
There are few things my two young boys look forward to more on their Disney trips than character dining. My favorite character dining experience is at
Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort, which is open for breakfast or dinner. As the family enjoyed a huge buffet, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, and Minnie each stopped by our table to pose for pictures and sign autographs.
Other character dining experiences my family has enjoyed on previous trips include
Donald's Safari breakfast in Tusker House at Disney's Animal Kingdom (featuring Donald Duck and friends), dinner at
The Garden Grill restaurant in the Land Pavilion at Epcot (featuring Chip 'n' Dale and friends), and breakfast at
Cape May Café at the Beach Club Resort (featuring Goofy, Donald, and Minnie).
For my boys, the character meals at Cinderella's Royal Table at the Magic Kingdom, 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian Resort, and Akershus Princess Story Book Dining at the Norway Pavilion at Epcot are too princess and storybook themed for their taste. However, every family is different, so choose the character meals that look right for your family.
Keep in mind that the characters are subject to change and that character meals tend to book quickly. I highly recommend making advance dining reservations soon. You can do so online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.
Enjoy your vacation.
