Hi Penny!
While I'm sure there are differing opinions on the "best" building to request at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, I'm happy to share my favorites! I've had the pleasure of being a guest of Port Orleans Riverside on several occasions, and have enjoyed every stay. It's a beautiful resort - you'll feel like you're in the heart of Louisiana, surrounded by regal mansions and backwoods cottages. The dining choices at Port Orleans are beyond compare - the cornbread at
Boatwright's Dining Hall even prompted me to ask our waiter for the recipe (which he provided)!
Of the rooms I've stayed in, my favorites were located in Buildings 14 and 15 in Alligator Bayou. The buildings are located very close to the main building, and are a very short walk away from the bus stop. The Alligator Bayou section has lots of shade trees, so in the summer months, that's a welcome relief from the heat! I enjoyed being just a hop, skip and a jump away from
Riverside Mill Food Court, where my kids could stop in and grab a quick snack or get a cold soda in their refillable mugs. The buildings are also a short distance from the dock where you can enjoy boat transportation to Disney Springs - so nice! If you'd prefer to stay in the Magnolia Bend section of the resort, I'd recommend the Magnolia Terrace building because of its close proximity to the East Depot bus stop and leisure pool.
No matter which section you choose, you're sure to find your own reasons to love your stay at Port Orleans Resort - Riverside! Please come back and visit us if you have more questions as you plan your vacation. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
