Hello! What’s the best way to book lightning lanes if my family is splitting up for our first tier one ride? Should we book on separate My Disney Experience logins? I will be booking the rest of the LL’s for everyone and we want to be together.

Hey there, hi there, ho there!

Welcome to planDisney, Lindsey! We're as happy as can be to hear from you and help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World Resort. You'll be hanging out with Mickey and pals before you know it!

Oh, I understand this dilemma! On our last vacation, my family had trouble deciding between Frozen Ever After and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure for our EPCOT group one multi pass experiences. Both are equally adorable and so much fun! After a little family-friendly Disney Parks Trivia competition on the Play Disney Parks mobile app, my son won out and we went ahead and booked Remy's Ratatouille Adventure.

Instead of trying to manage two separate groups for your Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections, it would be best to book everyone on the same multi pass group one experience to begin with. Once your purchase is complete, you can then use the My Disney Experience mobile app to go back in and modify the multi pass experience for only those members of your party who want a different group one attraction. (Subject to availability.) That way the rest of your multi pass experiences will still remain the same. Also, on the day of your visit, once you scan into your first Lightning Lane Multi Pass experience, you can then use the My Disney Experience mobile app to check for an additional multi pass experience and, if available, add it to your plans.

You'll want to book whichever group one multi pass experience usually becomes full first and then go back in to modify to your group's other preferred attraction. In the scenario I shared with you, we would have been right to book Remy's Ratatouille Adventure first as Frozen Ever After usually doesn't book up as quickly. I have also seen Frozen Ever After become available at times throughout the day. We were able to add it as an additional multi pass experience later that evening, although depending on park attendance that's not always doable.

Happy planning, Lindsey! If I can help you any further with Lightning Lane passes or any other planning questions you may have, please let me know. I'd love to hear from you! Have a wonderful vacation.

    Magical Wishes,

    Lauren
