What is the best way to get from Art of Animation Resort to the Contemporary resort? We are staying the first night at the AOA and then the rest of vacation at the Contemporary. Can we take the bus to MK with our luggage and walk from there? Thanks!

Hi there Kim, I'm pleased to wish you a royal welcome to planDisney!

I love planning a good transportation strategy, and it looks like you're in for a splendid split-stay later this year where you may need to get a little creative with your routing when you're taking advantage of complimentary Resort Transportation:

    • One of the best perks that come with staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort is being able to use the walkway that leads directly to and from Magic Kingdom Park. Coming from Disney's Art of Animation Resort, you might find it easiest to board one of the buses but be aware that you'll still be required to pass through Security with your luggage before making your way to the walkway leading to Disney's Contemporary Resort. (Be prepared for Security Cast Members to thoroughly look through your luggage in the event that there appears to be something detected as you pass through the scanner.)
    • Another alternative could be to take a bus from Disney's Art of Animation Resort directly to Disney Springs, where you'll need to switch for the one heading directly to Disney's Contemporary Resort. This method requires you to pass by a Security Cast Member often accompanied by a highly trained canine partner as you walk past the shops in the Town Center area of Disney Springs.
    • If you're in a bit of a time crunch, the best and quickest option could definitely be to schedule a ride to convey you directly between both of your Disney Resort Hotels, such as Minnie Van Service Connected by Lyft. These very distinctive vehicles are well known for their cosy interiors and exterior polka-dot pattern, you'll have to see for yourself as to whether it's worth any additional cost!
I hope that this was helpful, Kim - we hope to see you back at planDisney again for any more tips or advice ahead of your trip. With so many attractions and entertainment offerings coming to us this summer, I also hope that you get the opportunity to enjoy some new experiences during your upcoming visit!

Here's to staying closer and closer to the magic on your upcoming stay!
