Hey Julie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am thrilled to answer your great question about
Walt Disney World Resort complimentary resort transportation. I hope you continue to visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel while planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
There are two ways off traveling to
The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Taking a bus to the Magic Kingdom Park and then transferring to a boat to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort will leave you in the Outpost area of the Resort hotel which is where
Mickey’s Backyard BBQ is located. You do not need tickets for Magic Kingdom Park in order to use the boat, bus or monorail transportation. All of these transportation methods are outside of the Park’s gates.
You may also travel to The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort by taking a bus directly from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This makes it much faster to arrive at the Resort hotel, but once you arrive at the Resort hotel you will need to use the interior bus system to travel to the Outpost area. Either route will take you approximately the same amount of time.
I recommend that you allow at least 1 hour for the entire process. While your travel time may be shorter, it is always wise to allow extra time for unexpected delays.
Julie, I hope I have helped answer your question. If you have any more questions or need further clarification please visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel again. We are always here to help you!
