Hi Susan!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with a great question! As my friend Princess Tiana would say, you’re
Almost There. . .almost to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Before you know it, you’ll be walking right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A., and enjoying your favorite Mickey-shaped snack!
Susan, there are
several options for traveling between Orlando International Airport and your Disney hotel. One of the most popular choices is a private shuttle bus, such as MEARS Connect, which offers motor coach transportation. Since we are a family of five and my youngest is a toddler, this option is usually our top choice, so we don’t have to worry about traveling with car seats. I also like that we can reserve our transportation ahead of time, giving me one less thing to worry about on our busy travel day! If you choose to use a shuttle service, a quick online search will show you all of your options and more details about reserving your ride. We have also used rideshare services in the past. These are often the quickest choices, but I have sometimes found a more limited selection or a slightly longer wait when needing a larger vehicle and/or car seats.
Orlando International Airport also offers a variety of car rental options. While we typically like to leave the driving to Disney and utilize
complimentary resort transportation during our stay, a car rental may offer you more flexibility on your vacation. As an added bonus, Guests staying in the
Disney Resorts Collection can enjoy
free parking at your resort and the theme parks! If you plan to rent a car, I would recommend searching for availability and making a reservation from your preferred company before arrival.
If you haven’t already done so, I’d encourage you to complete
Online Check-in in your
My Disney Experience Mobile App before arriving at your resort. This quick and simple process will allow you to bypass the check-in desk and use
Disney’s Direct-to-Room Service. Once completed and with notifications enabled, you’ll receive an alert when your room is ready!
Susan, I hope this information has been helpful and that you enjoy a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
See ya real soon!
