Hiya, Tim! Welcome to planDisney!
Can you believe your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is less than two months away?! How exciting—especially since you’ll be visiting during the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration! It sounds like you're the official keeper of the keys to the kingdom, holding onto those precious tickets for your family. That's a super important role—you're basically the Head Mouseketeer in charge of leading this epic Disneyland adventure!
Now, when it comes to sharing those magical tickets, you're thinking along the right lines! While you won't actually be "adding" your family members to your MyDisney account, the trick is to link each ticket you're holding to their own Disneyland app accounts.
Here’s how to make that happen: First, you'll want to have your tickets at the ready in your
Disneyland mobile app. Just tap that handy three-lined menu icon at the bottom right and select "My Tickets & Passes". You should see all of your tickets here. Then, have your family members open their Disneyland apps on their own devices (if they don’t have accounts yet, they can create them in the app in just a few short steps!). They'll also head to the "Tickets & Passes" section, tap the little blue plus sign (+) at the top right, and choose "Link Tickets & Passes".
To get those tickets linked to their apps, you have a couple of simple options. If members of your group are gathered together in one place, they can tap the "Camera" tab in their app and scan the barcode for their ticket directly from your phone screen or your confirmation email. It’s faster than a ride on
Radiator Springs Racers! But if you’re coordinating from different places, no problem at all! You can provide the members of your party with the ID numbers from the tickets, then they can select the "Type ID" tab and simply type in the unique numbers included on the tickets.
A little insider tip for you, Tim: even if your name is initially on all the tickets, don't worry! As each person in your party makes their grand entrance into the park and scans their ticket for the first time, their photo will be taken. This photo then becomes their unique identifier for that ticket throughout their adventure, so the name itself isn't the crucial part. However, if you're leading a large group of loved ones, you might find it helpful to
call the tickets hotline before you arrive. They can help assign each name to a ticket, which can be a real time-saver when you're organizing everyone or if you're using
Lightning Lane passes to book attractions together. Knowing exactly whose ticket is whose makes coordinating your next dash to
Space Mountain a breeze!
Tim, I truly hope these tips help you set the stage for an absolutely wonderful and memorable adventure at the Disneyland Resort. May your visit be filled with
churros, character hugs, and core memories!
