Hello Katrina!
With five kids of my own (age ranging from 12 years to 2 years), I totally understand your concern. However, I am VERY happy to tell you that with a little planning, your whole family will have "the time of their lives!"
Many of the attractions in the Disney Parks are designed for every member of your family to enjoy. Even though these attractions are not considered "thrill rides", I PROMISE your 10 year old son will love them. From
Peter Pan's Flight to
Dumbo the Flying Elephant, the way the Disney Imagineers theme each attraction is just mind blowing! My 10 year old has been many times to Walt Disney World, and he loves riding every attraction!
Now, there will be times when your 10 year old will want to experience the "thrill rides"! And let me tell you, they are AWESOME! So, what do you do? Well...I am so glad you asked!
My family will arrive at a Disney Park when it opens. The crowds are not bad, so we are able to ride several attractions as a family. We stick together and eat lunch together. After lunch, my wife will take the "little kids" (ages 4 and 2), and I will take the "big kids" (ages 8, 10, 12) and go ride all of the "thrill rides". We will then meet up for dinner and enjoy the night together as a family. If the Disney Parks are open really late, my wife will usually take the little kids home, and I will stay with the big kids to ride more attractions.
No matter your age, I promise every member of your family will have the best time! If you have other questions, please let me know!
Have a MAGICAL day!
Wes
