    Hi Bernie, On 3/3/2013 you answered a question about celebrating birthdays at WDW. I am interested in the illuminations cruise for my husband's birthday. How can that be arranged? Also, how do you order a celebratory cake? Who do you call?

    Hi Connie!

    Thank you for sending me this question directly.  I really appreciate it.

    Reservations for all cruises, including Illuminations cruises, can be made by calling (407) WDW-PLAY between the hours of 7 am and 10 pm Eastern.  Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance and you need a credit card to hold the reservation; you have to cancel at least 24 hours in advance not to be charged. The cruise is a lot of fun.  You get a wonderful view of the water fountains, the Earth ball, and the fireworks. 

    You can custom order a cake for your husband's birthday by calling the Walt Disney World cake hotline at (407) 827-2253.  Cakes have to be ordered no more than 3 weeks ahead and at least 48 hours ahead.  However, some locations do require 72 hours notice.
