Hi Bernie, going in June with friends to Riverside. they want 2 connecting rms and we need a trundle. Will we be able to get the remodeled rooms? What is the "Royal Guest" room? And is there a difference in the views? Is the River view worth it?

    Hi Liza!

I love Port Orleans Riverside.  Thank you for sending me this question!  I've had no problems getting two connecting rooms on every visit.

The Royal Guest Rooms will be newly themed rooms at Riverside; they aren't available for guests until at least March 2012 and I've only seen concept art and photographs for the rooms.  However, from the concept art, the rooms look like they will be fabulous.  It was posted on the Disney Parks Blog that the rooms "allow princes and princesses of all ages to stay where Disney royalty have stayed.  Guests find regal touches left behind by some of their Disney characters like fiber optics special effects above ornately decorated beds with gold and crystal accents; custom linens and drapes; and in-room art and details including princely banners and princess friends.

To see some of the concept art and get more detailed information on Port Orleans Riverside, I recommend visiting the independent website www.PortOrleans.org.  It's a fan site, but it is full of lots of information on the resort.  You can get the answer to almost any Port Orleans question on that site.

Enjoy planning your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
