Bernie, thanks for answering my earlier question about golf carts at Fort Wilderness. How do you suggest we get from the check-in area to the Bike Barn to pick up our cart? How far of a walk is it? Will the Bike Barn deliver it to our cabin?

    Hi Joseph!

Check-in is pretty much the same as at other Disney resorts.  You should park at the Reception Outpost if you have a car and check-in at the front desk.  You may store your luggage there if your cabin isn't ready.  There you will get your resort ID and some information on Walt Disney World in general and Fort Wilderness in particular.

After you check-in you will want to pick up your golf cart, assuming you reserved it for the day you are checking-in as opposed to later on during your stay.  If you have a car, you can actually park at the Meadows Trading Post which is where the Bike Barn is located.  If you don't have a car or just don't want to drive it, you can walk to the Bike Barn; I haven't timed it myself, but it's about 3/4 of a mile as the crow flies.  You can also take the internal bus system to the Meadows Trading Post.

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
