Hi Bernie, would you pls clarify a responsefrom 9/18 on resort charges. It said Disney would charge credit cards tied to KTTW when balances reach certain limit based on resort type. What are balance limits & why not charge at departure? Thx!

    Hi Leslie!

Thank you for sending me this question directly.  The last time I looked into the various credit limits was last year in late 2011.  At that time, the limit on your room charge is set by you level of resort:
    • $500 for Disney Value Resorts
    • $1,000 for Disney Moderate Resorts
    • $1,500 for Disney Deluxe Resorts
You can also request a lower amount if you want.when you check-in.  The amount you charge on your Key to the World card doesn't get charged to your real credit/debit card until you reach your limit OR just before you check-out, whichever comes first.

So for example, suppose you are staying at Pop Century, a Disney Value Resort, for a week.  On the first night, you charge $150 on your Key to the World card for dinner.  On the second night you charge $50 for dinner.  On the third night you charge $300.00 putting your total charges at $500.00; at that point Disney would charge your real credit card $500.00 and "reset" your Key to the World charge balance to zero.  Remember that you do not have to use your Key to the World card for any charges!  You can request that none of them allow charging and just use your personal credit cards or cash throughout the resort.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
