Thanks for asking me a question! D23 is an official Disney Fan Club run by Disney itself. Being a member of D23 has many benefits, including an awesome quarterly magazine with all kinds inside Disney information and gifts, access to member only events, exclusive merchandise, discounts on tickets to the D23 Expo 2011, subscription to bi-weekly D23 FanFare e-newsletter with breaking news and special offers, and other special promotional offers and discounts. For More information on the D23 official Fan Club, you can click here. There are two levels of D23 Memberships a Gold and Silver membership. You can find out more about each of these memberships including the cost and benefits by clicking here. I am a day one charter member of D23 and I can't recommend this amazing fan club enough.
