Is there a benefit to purchasing Disney Dollars vs a Disney gift card for use in the parks for merchandise/food or otherwise? Is there any place that accepts one but not the other? I can get a Disney gift card locally, but not Disney dollars. THANKS!!!!!

    Hi Kristen!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World.

Disney Dollars can be considered to be basically like cash within Walt Disney World while Disney Gift Cards can be considered like a debit card.  Both are readily taken within Walt Disney World at Disney owned and operated restaurants and shops, which are the majority but not all of the restaurants and shops within Walt Disney World.

Disney Dollars are usually used by younger members of a party and or are collected by Disney fans.  You can get them at the theme parks and in most of the resort hotels, but it has been my experience that the resort hotels usually have a very limited amount.  That's especially true if you are looking for particular denominations.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
