What's the benefit of a preferred room at Pop Century? We've stayed at All Star Music in a preferred room and it was a major perk. Is Pop Century similar? I can't decide if the upgrade is a good use of $100 or money that can be saved for other things.

Hi Kimberly! Since you have stayed at the All Star Music resort you will understand how the Value resorts at Disney are quite large and spread out. Booking a preferred room will allow you to be closer to the buses, food court, and central lobby areas. Pop Century is also a Value resort so this will hold true for there as well. If you don't mind more walking you can get a nice room at a building further away. Your views can be wonderful but you will be taking more steps each time you wish to grab something to eat or shop or just head for the bus. The decision to save or spend the extra money is definitely a personal one. If you can be organized and always remember what you need when heading to the parks it isn't a bad way to save a little money. But if you have a family that forgets and the need to return for those items once you reach the bus it can be a stressful time. Decisions, decisions...nothing is ever easy. Personally I go for the preferred rooms and save the steps. I am tired after walking all day in the parks so finding my room quickly is a bonus I don't mind paying for!
