    Are there any behind the scenes things to do at the Animal Kingdom Lodge? Are the dinners unique? We are also celebrating a special birthday for my wife. 30×2....Lol

    Hi Bill!

    Walt Disney World is the perfect destination to celebrate a birthday!  Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite Walt Disney World Resorts.

    Guests staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge have two safari adventures to choose from.  Wanyama Safari takes guests out into the Savannah for an up close and personal encounter with the animals and includes a multi-course dinner at Jiko - The Cooking Place.  There is also a Night Safari that lets guests explore the Savannah after dark on guided excursion.  Advance reservations and payment are required for both of these tours.  

    Boma - Flavors of Africa is an all you care to eat restaurant featuring some delicious African flavors.  It is one of my top favorite restaurants for breakfast and dinner!

    Jiko - The Cooking Place is a signature restaurant (with a fancier dress code).  This would be a fantastic location to celebrate a special birthday.  This restaurant features an open kitchen and romantic atmosphere.  

    Finally, Sanaa offers African and Indian flavors with an outstanding bread service that I could probably make into a meal just for myself!  This restaurant has a special "tour" where you can dine with an animal specialist in a small group setting with a fabulous pre-fixe 4-course meal.
