In beginnng stages of 2013 Trip Planning :-) Need opinions from My Disney Guru's on which week would be preferred and why. Either May 5th-11th or Sept 22nd-28th. We love Disney's Fall decorations but weren't sure when those go up. Thanks So Much!

Hi Amy! Tough decisions when it comes to these two weeks. I can definitely see positives for both and will outline those to you in hopes it will help you make a reservation for what is best for you!

Weather wise both weeks would be very similar. The temperatures will be warm and humid and even the chances of rain will be similar. Of course you always have to heed that the fall is still hurricane season so there is a chance of something larger then a simple rain storm coming through in September. It is unlikely and not something that will necessarily ruin a vacation but it can happen. May begins the rainy afternoon storms but again guests learn to deal with that and not affect the visit.

The spring week would possibly fall within the Flower and Garden Festival although they have been setting earlier dates each year for this. Crowd wise you will see lower numbers but also this time of year brings more school groups to the parks.

I too love the fall and although it is still warmer then I like in September it is a great time to visit with the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party usually beginning at this time. If you can visit and take in that party in the Magic Kingdom it is a real treat. Dates are not set for 2013 but it is likely you would hit it under those dates.  Another plus for this time of year are the crowds. September is usually a lower crowd month and because of this Disney often offers such specials as Free Dining. If something like that comes up you can add that at a later date.

My vote......September 22-28! I too love the fall and it is such a great way to energize for the beginning of the holiday season!
