Hello All! I am in the beginning stages of planning and wanted to ask a question about places to stay? My daughter has a mild form of Cerebral Palsy and uses a wheel chair. What are the best hotels that can accomodate her? She loves all things princess

    Hi Shannon ~

As a Mom to a son with Cerebral Palsy, I completely understand your needs.

There are accessible rooms in all of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels but the number is limited. Booking early helps get the room you need. The features in the rooms may vary. For example, some of the accessible rooms have roll-in showers and others have tubs. You can also request other special items like shower chairs to make your stay easier. The rooms in the deluxe resorts seem to be larger which helps. We feel like Disney's Polynesian Village Resort rooms are larger and give us more space. You could also think about a suite at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. They offer accessible suites with roll-in showers.

You mentioned that your daughter loves all things Princess - a girl after my own heart for sure. I think she would really enjoy staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. They offer Royal Guest rooms that are amazing. There are regal touches everywhere including fireworks in the headboards! Accessible Royal Guest rooms are available but very limited.

If you haven't already picked your dates of travel, I'd highly recommend doing that and booking your hotel room as soon as possible. You can explore resort hotels on the Walt Disney World website. Once you reach that link, click on the "Accessible Rooms" option near the top right corner to give you some ideas of what is available during the time you want to visit.

I am limited in space but please feel free to visit again with all your questions. I'm hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
